Hellooooo everyone! Today, I am bringing you all of the information you need to join in Series Crackdown 10.0. Pretty please don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Instagram so that you don’t miss out on any readathon announcements or content! Also, don’t forget to sign-up below so we know you’re participating…

SIGN-UP FORM

Pretty please go follow our amazing hosts too!

What?

Series Crackdown is NORMALLY a 10-day readathon that focuses on finishing off those unread series on your shelf. However, this will be the 10th round of the readathon so there may be a few little extra changes to celebrate our anniversary…

When?

One major change to the readathon is that instead of 10 days, we will be running from 1st – 31st August! That’s right, you now have a whole month to tackle those series that have been gathering dust on your shelves.

Where?

You can participate in Series Crackdown anywhere and everywhere as usual, as long as you sign-up! The main platforms we use are Twitter and Instagram but I would absolutely love to see more blog posts and BookTube videos, so please make sure you send us your links on Twitter so we can read/watch and retweet your content! You can tag us @SeriesCrackdown or @TheBookMoo to make sure we don’t miss out on your TBR or progress!

Prompts

Here are the prompts for this round of the readathon, they apply to all teams, however it is up to you if you wish to free-read or use the prompts for your TBR. I always try to make Series Crackdown as laid-back as possible to suit everyone. The only rule I have for the prompts, if you decide to use them, is that you can use 1 book for 2 prompts but no more than that!

  • First in a series
  • Sequel
  • Gathering dust on your shelf
  • Glossy Cover
  • Recommended by a friend
  • Fantasy
  • Read with a snack
  • Animal on the cover

Teams

There are 4 teams to choose from, Duologies, Trilogies, Quartets and Beasts. Each team has a Captain, team read (optional) and their very own sprinting session! More about sprints later…

Picking a team is easy, you just pick which type of series you prefer, or simply go with whichever team read takes your fancy or has been sitting on your shelf the longest!

(Team Quartets is obviously the best choice…)

Twitter Sprints

Normally during Series Crackdown, we have Twitter sprints each night, however as this round is a month-long, it is just not possible as much as I’d love it! Therefore, we will be having:

  • An opening chat – Saturday 1st August
  • Individual team sprints – Each Friday (check graphics above for your team’s date)
  • Random sprints for everyone – I recommend turning notifications on for our Twitter account so you don’t miss out on random sprints!
  • A wrap-up chat – Monday 31st August

All sprints will be at 8pm BST except for random ones so make sure you keep your eyes peeled and notifications on for them! You could earn some MOO points from the host!

Instagram

There is no Instagram photo challenge this time around however, I have a story TBR template for you all! Throughout the readathon, I may make more story templates and share them over on our Instagram, @SeriesCrackdown.

MOO Points

MOO points are back! Each team captain will award MOO points for a variety of things, including joining in sprints, blog posts, progress tweets, finishing books, reading a hosts fave book, instagram stories and posts, BookTube videos and many many more! See how many you can collect and may the best team win…*ahem* Quartets!

Thank you so much for sticking around till the end of this post, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask me or any of the other hosts. Don’t forget to sign-up here and go follow us on Twitter and Instagram! See you all on the 1st!

Mel x
