Dewey’s 24-hour Readathon – October 2018

Bookish (4)

Review Time (45)

And now, the end is near, and so I face the final curtain, I read till the very last minute and managed to get to page 379! Thank you so much for following my updates throughout the readathon and I’ve enjoyed every second of it! Although I didn’t manage to finish Queen of Shadows, I’m proud that I managed to get as much as I did read.

1. Which hour was most daunting for you?

Hour fourteen, when I desperately wanted to stay up to read more but knew if I did, I wouldn’t wake up with enough time to see the end of the readathon!

2. Tell us ALLLLL the books you read!

A large chunk of Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas.

3. Which books would you recommend to other Read-a-thoners?

SHORT BOOKS, don’t do what I did and tackle a tome. Pick up small books that are under 300 pages at least.

4. What’s a really rad thing we could do during the next Read-a-thon that would make you happy?

Maybe a question of the hour? But I think the readathon is great the way it is!

5. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? Would you be interested in volunteering to help organize and prep?

I would definitely participate again but I’m not organised enough to help with the prep or anything!

Just keep reading, just keep reading, just keep reading, reading, reading!

HIIIIII, I am alive and back from sleeping. It is currently 10:30am here and I am ready to dive straight back into the readathon with a coffee and motivation. I am hoping to get 60% of this book read by 1pm which is when the readathon ends for me. Fingers crossed!

Starting on page 309, let’s go!

TA-DA! I made it to 2am and got to page 309. I am on Chapter 38 and near enough halfway through this read. I don’t think I’ll finish it by the end of the readathon but possibly by Sunday night? Anyway, that’s me out for the night, goodnight!

STILL READING…1:37am here but I can do this! I am determined to get a good chunk of Queen of Shadows read.

READ, READ, READ! Also a cheeky little drink of Baileys…

Review Time (32)

I am really into this book right now, hence the lack of updates. It’s currently 11:45pm in the UK so I am carrying on into the wee hours…

This hour I was travelling and socialising with my mum and dad, so yeah I didn’t really read much. Next up is hour nine where I am seriously getting stuck into this book and fingers crossed will get at least to the 45% I mentioned earlier!!!

Review Time (28)

This meme for hour seven is actually hilarious. It is literally me and my family…

Starting on page 204, the shit has hit the fan already and this book has 645 pages!

Review Time (27)

Started on page 177, now onto page 204. I read 27 pages that time and I am determined to beat that in the next hour. 32% through and I’m looking to make it to at least 45 in the next hour, fingers crossed!

Just had to share a beautiful photo of that cover! Also, behind the scenes of me blogging each hour. I sat down to have my tea, fish, chips and bread, and also had a lovely great British cup of tea. YUM YUM. My Fiance is on refills today.

I also watched the first 15 minutes of the Liverpool match but decided I best get my act together and start reading again. Only managed till page 177 this hour which means I read only 12 pages. BRING IT ON HOUR SIX!

Starting on page 139 of Queen of Shadows, hoping to smash this hour and read up to at least 25% of the way through this book! Not far to go.

WOOOO! I got past my goal for this hour, just about… I know it’s only 26 pages but I haven’t been reading the entire hour as I have to at least interact with people today! Here goes hour five!!!

I got a shower, cleaned up the house and got dressed, yes it is 3:45pm here but better late than never. I am now sitting with a glass of lemo and ready to continue reading. I had a browse of the Dewey’s website and absolutely love this book-loving parody, make sure you check it out!

Starting on page 99 of Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas, I read 40 pages in hour two and I’m now on page 139 with very sore eyes. Now to get a shower and drink to rest my eyes for around 20 minutes before carrying on!

I’ll be honest, this hour was mostly spent watching Better Call Saul with my Fiance on the couch. However, I am now updating this blog post and my second hour will be a reading hour I PROMISE, scouts honour and all that jazz.

Review Time

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

Liverpool, England!

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

City of Ghosts, if I manage to get there!

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

I am a Slytherin so beware…

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?

I did not make plans this time! Normally, I always have somewhere to be or plans to go out but this time I have NADA. Yay for me, more reading time!

YASSSS, Dewey’s 24-hour readathon is back!!!! It starts at the same time all around the World so we all start and finish at the same time. It is a really good readathon that I participate in EVERY single time it is on because:

A) It is always on a weekend, which is mega useful if you work Monday to Friday.

B) It starts at 1PM for me so I can prep myself (and my family) before the readathon starts

If you haven’t read my previous Dewey’s Readathon posts before, I always do the most recent hour’s update at the top to save you from scrolling all the way to the bottom every time. In effect, I write them backwards.

So, what is on my TBR for those 24-hours? Look no further!

  1. This is my first one but it’s 10pm to 10pm so I might not be able to do it all! Working for 2.5 hours tomorrow but in the middle of an audiobook that I can listen to while I’m there so I’ll be fine!
    I’m excited!!
