TUESDAY TALKS: Do you give authors a second chance if you did not like something by them?

Tuesday Talks (8)

Don’t forget that you can find previous Tuesday Talks posts right here.

This is set up by the wonderful Janie over at Bookworms Buddy, and Janelle at MrsJRodsReads. This segment is, as the name implies, a talk each Tuesday about a book-related topic.

And this week’s topic is:

Do you give authors a second chance if you did not like something by them?

YES YES YES YES YES. Of course, I do! Every book is different and we all have strengths and weaknesses so an author may write one book you like and one you don’t. Their writing style may not change but the content of the book and the characters will.

Plus, you know your own reading tastes and so it might be a genre you don’t like or the plotline may not speak to you or the characters may not be relatable. But like I said before, every book is different.

For example, I really liked The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, but then I wasn’t too keen on Papertowns or An Abundance of Katherines. One book doesn’t define an author.

What about you?
