TUESDAY TALKS: Do you write? Books, Poetry, short stories?

Tuesday Talks (6)
Don’t forget that you can find previous Tuesday Talks posts right here.

This is set up by the wonderful Janie over at Bookworms Buddy, and Janelle at MrsJRodsReads. This segment is, as the name implies, a talk each Tuesday about a book-related topic.

And this week’s topic is:

Do you write? Books, Poetry, Short Stories?

I do write every once in a while. Ideally, I would love to write a novel and get published but between working and other commitments I have right now, it’s just not going to happen. I think I would need to quit my job in order to concentrate enough time on writing and that just isn’t viable!

I write in short bursts, I become obsessed with writing and spend every night working on something but then get bored and run out of ideas and it gets pushed to one side. Then a few weeks/months later, I do it again and so the cycle goes on. I would absolutely love to finish something and get people’s thoughts on it but I suppose it’s not only time but fear.

Oh no, what if no-one likes it? What if it is incorrect? What if there is never a chance of getting this piece out there? Anyway, I definitely need to get over my fears and just WRITE!

What about you?

  1. I love writing and have been working on my first novel for the past months now but I can’t seem to get excited about finishing it anymore. Idk. It’s annoying because I don’t want to just put it aside and neglect all the hard work I’ve put into it, but I also don’t feel like continuing. 😦
When I am writing I am enjoying it so I don’t really know what the problem is.
