TUESDAY TALKS: Which authors surprised you with their writing skills?

Tuesday Talks (5)Don’t forget that you can find previous Tuesday Talks posts right here.

This is set up by the wonderful Janie over at Bookworms Buddy, and Janelle at MrsJRodsReads. This segment is, as the name implies, a talk each Tuesday about a book-related topic.

And this week’s topic is:

Which authors surprised you with their writing skills?

For me, this was definitely Melinda Salisbury and I was pleasantly surprised! When I read The Sin Eater’s Daughter series she surprised me by being lethal, evil and creating an unbelievable World based on fairytales. Her writing will not only engulf you into the World but leave you in tears. Definitely a fellow Slytherin.

Also, Rachael Lucas, author of The State of Grace, surprised me by how easily her debut book flowed! The writing was spot on as it flowed through Grace’s life and really made you feel like you were alongside her, following her story. I also loved her writing of feelings and how Grace dealt with certain things in her life.

These are two authors who surprised me in such a good way that I will continue reading their books in the future.

What about you?
