Don’t forget that you can find previous Tuesday Talks posts right here.
This is set up by the wonderful Janie over at Bookworms Buddy, and Janelle at MrsJRodsReads. This segment is, as the name implies, a talk each Tuesday about a book-related topic.
This week’s topic is:
What are some of your favourite pets in books?
I have to admit this topic came at the perfect time for me because I’ve just finished The State of Grace by Rachael Lucas. Grace has a pet horse in this book who believe it or not is a character in herself! Mabel is not just a pet, she is Grace’s friend, family member and boosts Grace’s confidence. What a fab pet to have too?!
Of course, I couldn’t talk about favourite pets without mentioning the famous Hedwig, Harry Potter’s snowy owl. Hedwig is a sign of Harry’s new-found freedom of being a wizard and is so cute and fluffy and a snowy owl, A SNOWY OWL! Must I say more?
Another Harry Potter pet favourite of mine is Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback. Hagrid has always wanted a dragon and BOOM ‘a stranger down the pub’ gets him a dragon egg, which hatches into the fiery and lovable Norbert!
I totally forgot about Buckbeak the Hippogriff too! I will stop here because otherwise, I will name every pet that has ever been in the Harry Potter series, including Aragog!
Oh I have to give an honourable mention to Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion, the mother of dragons ‘pets’. The only reason I didn’t include them above is because well, they aren’t really pets I guess? They’re more like children than anything so that’s why they’re tacked on the end here.
What about you?
