I recently visited Dublin, Ireland for a little leisure time in February. I absolutely love Dublin, this was my second visit to the city and I have to say it’s a definite that I’ll return yet again in the future. I decided to put together a list of 10 must-do things in Dublin to persuade you all to pay this capital city a visit.
1 – Try a pint of Guinness
A pint of the black stuff does not take everyone’s fancy but when in Dublin…
2 – Visit the Guinness Factory
This is a really interesting tourist attraction. You will not only join the hundreds of people who have taken a selfie with the St James’ Gate Brewery sign, but you’ll be able to enjoy (or pretend to enjoy) a pint of Guinness at the Gravity Bar, with a birds eye 360-degree view of Dublin in all it’s glory.
3 – Get a picture with Molly Malone
Crying Cockles and Mussels, Alive, Alive, oh! The Molly Malone statue is now situated on Suffolk Street and is a photo must-have after visiting Dublin.
4 – Eat steak at F.X. Buckley’s
Please don’t order a well-done steak, that is a torture in itself. At least go for medium-to-well and appreciate the goodness that is F.X Buckley’s.
5 -Go on a pub crawl down Temple Bar
Pubs on the must-go-to list are:
Oliver St John Gogarty’s
The Auld Dubliner
The Temple Bar
6 -Visit Dublin Zoo
A fabulous day out for everyone! There are so many different animals in this zoo that I couldn’t begin to list them. Go and see if you can count them yourself!
7 – Eat at Smokin’ Bones
Nom, nom, nom. That is all.
8 – Buy Donuts at Off Beat
The selection of doughnuts here is absolutely mouth-watering. I recommend the red velvet filled doughnut, YUM! 3 for €6 and you will not be disappointed!
9 – Visit the Archaeological Museum
This is a great way to spend your day, having a gander at all the different things found by archaeologists. You must check out the chilling bog boy, I have shivers just thinking about it.
10 – Visit the Science Gallery
This is a small but worthwhile visit. There are just 2 floors to explore exhibitions with the latest science and technology. Have a look at the colouring robot and control your very own robot!
If you get the chance to visit Dublin, grab it with both hands. It’s a brilliant getaway for a few days and I would highly recommend it! Don’t forget to check these things off your list.
