TOP 5 WEDNESDAY: Characters You WOULDN’T Want to Trade Places With

Top 5 Wednesday is set up by the lovely Lainey at GingerReadsLainey if you want to pop over and have a look at her channel. This meme is being looked after by Sam at Thoughts on Tomes. Let’s have a look at the topic for today!

Characters you wouldn’t want to trade places with

5) Louisa Clark – Me Before You/After You by Jojo Moyes

She has to be the unluckiest human being i’ve ever met. SERIOUSLY! First she is stuck in her hometown supporting her parents and can’t spread her wings, has a boyfriend who cares more about how long it takes him to run a mile than about her and she manages to fall in love with the man she is caring for! It’s safe to say her life is highly complicated and it continues in After You!

4) Faith – The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge

I could not deal with the sexism of that era. Like dude, girls have brains and we kick ass, no need to undermine us.

3) Any character – ASOIAF/Game of Thrones series by George R.R Martin

YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOUR TIME IS UP! Also, have you seen that crazy Ice King? He is legit one scary ass villain and he’s coming, with Winter…and dead people.

2) Martha Honeydew from Cell 7 by Kerry Drewery

Martha is on death row where there are 7 cells before the public vote if you live or die. So yeah, I’m glad i’m not her with my fate in the public’s hands!

1) Madeline – Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

This girl is stuck in her house and has been for years and years. She’s had hardly any contact with other people except her Mum and her nurse Carla. I wouldn’t trade places with her for a million pound.

What about you?

  1. Some good choices here. I’d have picked Will from Me Before you because he doesn’t have any choice everything is in other peoples hands where as Louisa always has an option she is an adult so she always has the option of moving away and living her own life if that’s what she wanted

        1. I’m not keen on adult books as it is so me before you was okay to me but not amazing! Yeah, I found the sequel to be just a money maker basically, let’s write a book with the same character cos the first was successful :/
