“Set in a topsy-turvy world like a holiday revel, this comedy devises a romantic plot around separated twins, misplaced passions, and mistaken identity. Juxtaposed to it is the satirical story of a self-deluded steward who dreams of becoming “Count Malvolio” only to receive his comeuppance at the hands of the merrymakers he wishes to suppress. The two plots combine to create a farce touched with melancholy, mixed throughout with seductively beautiful explorations on the themes of love and time, and the play ends, not with laughter, but with a clown’s sad song.“
This month as part of our buddy read, Jess and I read Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld. We both received a review copy from NetGalley so a big thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster. Whenever me and Jess pick a book to read, so far it is always 5 stars for both of us so i’m hoping the same can be said for this month’s read which will be announced at the end of this post. Here are our thoughts on Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld and i’ll give you a clue…go read it NOW!
For September’s read we have picked Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare. An unusual choice considering our previous buddy reads but Jess has a lot of required reading for her Uni course and so I jumped on the bandwagon! So keep your eyes peeled for next month’s buddy read!
